Tire professional bicycle road race from Goulburn to Sydney was won by Hubert Opperman, of Victoria, with ten minutes to spare. Opperman started from scratch, his time being 5 hours 59 minutes, 5 seconds. C. Li.iidus (Newcastle) was second, and G. Birch (Sydney) was third. In a similar race for amateurs, the winner was YV. McMurtic, whose time was 7 hours 14 minutes 35 seconds. RUGBY. (Australian Press Association. —United Service.) OTTAWA, Sept. 13. At Winnipeg to-day the final link in the chain of Empire Rugby Unions was created when delegates from the provincial associations passed a resolution authorising the newly-formed body, the Rugby Union of Canada, to control tho sport in the Dominion. The delegatee adopted the rules in force in Britain, aiming to assure an even standard of play. CRICKET. (Australian Press Association. —United Service.) LONDON, Sept. 13.
