GLEN OROUA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) GLEN OROUA, Sept. 14. Miss R. Connelly, who recontly spent a fortnight with her mother, Mrs A. Connelly, at Glen Oroua, has returned to •Napier to undertake the duties of tutor 6ister at the Napier Public Hospital. Miss Connelly successfully completed the diploma of nursing course at Wellington a short time ago. A School Committeo moeting was held in the school room last Monday evening, there being present Messrs W. H. Boswell (chairman), W. Wallace (secretary), J. Howl, P. Farland, W. A. Boswell, and S. G. Parlano (head teacher). There was only a small amount of business to transact. Several accounts wero passed for payment and the head teacher was authorised to obtain a cover for the piano and to have the lawn mower sharpened. The school reopened after the second term vacation last Tuesday with a noil number of 61. Three pupils had left and ono was admitted. Ten pupils were absent, the majority of theso having contracted chicken pox, while several havo not yet recovered from whooping cough. A hockey match between the Onoua Downs schoolgirls and tho local girls is to be played at Glen Oroua towards the end of next week. This is tho postponed match for the Thomson Shield, and was previously held over on account of wet weather.
