LAND TO BE SOLD.
GOVERNMENT’S DECISION. FLATS FOR MINISTERS. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 16. While the Government has decided to cut up and sell the grounds about the Ministerial residence in Tinakori Road, it has bought another block of land known as Mantell’s block, in Sydney Street, at the back of Parliament House, which is to be utilised for Ministerial residences in the form of flats. There are already two house's on this land. The Ministerial residence in Tinakori Road is historic in that it has been the home of many Prime Ministers, including Sir Joseph Ward himself.
