STEPS FOR PREVENTION. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 18. r Reference to the -serious fire loss in New Zealand’ was made at the meeting of the Christchurch Fire . Board and a resolution was passed endorsing the suggestion of Mr T. Hugo,. Inspector of Fire Brigades, that compulsory instruction in fire prevention should be given in schools and colleges.
