AFGHAN UNREST
REVOLT AT KANDAHAR. EX-KING’S FLAG HOISTED. NADIR KHAN OFFERS REWARD. (United Press Association—By Electrio' Telegraph—Copyright) (United Service.) Received September 19, 8.50 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 18. The Daily Mail’s Lahore correspondent states: “The Duranti tribesmen, who are_ at present occupying Kandahar, 1200 miles south-west of Kabul, the capital, have not met with resistance from Habibullah’s troops, a company of which mutinied and hoisted ex-King Amanullah’s flag, and enabled the tribesmen to seize a large quantity of arms and ammunition. “It is believed that an appeal for vengeance lias been made Dy the widow of Amanullaji’s brother-in-law, whom Habibullah executed, stimulated the revolt. “The women of Amanullah’s family, who are at present imprisoned, at Kabul, have called on the Mohmand tribesmen in the name of Allah to save them from further disgrace and torture at the hands of Habibullah.
“Nadir Khan, former Afghan Minister at Paris, who is leading the revolt has offered a reward of £187,000 to whoever first enters and occupies Kabul.”
