FOXTON

(From Our Own Correspondent). FOXTON, Sept. 19. A committee meeting of the Foxton Horticultural Society was presided over by Mr IV. S. Heyes. The secretary submitted a balance-sheet in connection with the Spring Show which disclosed a satisfactory state of affairs under the circumstances. Accounts amounting to £29 8s were passed for payment. It was decided to forward a letter of sympathy to Mr N. Cresswell in his illness. The secretary reported having received the following offers in connection with the Summer Show: —Points prize of shrubs and plants to the value of 10s 6d and bulbs to the value of £1 Is from Madame De Roux and Mr L. J. Weightman respectively. It was decided to hold a special general meeting of the society in the Presbyterian Sunday schoolroom at 7.30 p.m. on Monday next to discuss the schedule for the Summer Show and also to consider the question of suitably celebrating tho society’s 25th anniversary which takes place this year.
