FEILDING
COLLIE CLUB. (Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING, Sept. 20. r lr R. Shortall presided over the anr&il meeting of the Feilding and District Sallio Club last night, when there was an attendance of about twelve members from over a Vide area. The annual report was submitted by the president and adopted as follows -.-“ The annual trials were held on May 28, 29, 30 and 31. I regret to state that there was a decided decease in the numberc of entries received, but in every other way the trials were successful. Though the club is still quite financial, its position is not as sound as u was a year ago. This is due mainly to the facts that there was a decrease in the entries and that the public were not so actively canvassed this year as they wert on previous occasions. lam conhden , however, that the club will carry , on successfully-, and, given tho support it is entitled to receive from the farming community, its stability should be assured Again we have to thank the public of Feilding and district for their very Scncrons support. Tho club is much indebted to the trustees of the estate of the late Mr E Short for again lending sheep for the trials, to Messrs Viles Bros., for lending their property, and to the Feilding A. a P. Association for lending hurdles and netting. The Women’s National Reserve again Attended to the catering at the trials and the smoke concert in their usual efficient manner.
