GENERAL FORECAST. An anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand. A depression which has a cyclonic centres in its northern position is advancing slowly 'across the Tasman Sea. The cyclone oft the East Coa9t lias passed away eastward. East to north winds, light to moderate first, but freshening especially in the north. Seas smooth to moderate generally in New Zealand waters. Northerly winds, becoming strong in the Eastern Tasman and seas becoming rou~h. AVeather fine except for some scattered showers at first in the Gisborne and East Cape districts. Later clouds and haze increasing generally, aiid conditions gradually becoming unsettled in northern and western districts. Cold night tempematures with #ome srost, but milder later. DISTRICT REPORT. "WARMER CONDITIONS EXPECTED. The Government meteorologist wired to-day: Tiro* indications are for moderate to strong northerly winds and freshening. There is a prospect of fair weather, with increasing haze and cloudiness later. Rain is probable after about 24 hours, and the weather will probablv become warmer. Tho barometer is falling slowly.
