SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP

>CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 21. ' Fifty-eight riders started in the thirty-six miles South Island road cycling race to-day conducted by the Southbridge Athletic Club. The roads were good, but there was a strong easterly wind. The result was as follows: H. W. Bennett (15min) 1 C. Beauman (lOlmin) 2 L. It. Poulsen (12min) 3 Fastest time: J. W. Jordan, lhr. 38 min. lsec.
