FINES AT ASHBURTON
Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, Sept. 23. Before Justices of the Peace, Arthur William Wallace Smith, aged 26 vears, of Dorie, was fined £lO for being intoxicated while in charge of a car at the racecourse on Saturday and £5 for driving a car equipped with inefficient brakes; in default one month in gaol.'
