JEWISH SYNAGOGUE.
NEW BUILDING AT WELLINGTON. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 22. To-day, in beautiful weather, before a large attendance, the new Synagogue of the Jewish congregation was consecrated, the ceremony being performed by Rabbi H. Van Staveren (Wellington), Rabbi S. A. Goldstein (Auckland), Rev. C. Pitkowski (Wellington) and the Rev. A. Astor (Dunedin). Mr P. Myers, president of the Wellington Hebrew congregation, declared the new Synagogue open and the Chief Justice., Hon. M. Myers, unveiled a tablet in the vestibule, commemorating the foundation of the Synagogue and recording the names of the ministers and honorary officers.
