JAPANESE VIEW. (Australian Press Association.) TOKIO, Sept. 21. Cabinet has decided to instruct the Ambassadors at London and Washington to present Japan’s views in urging lower cruiser parity, affecting .a reduction, not merely a limitation. . AMERICAN INVESTIGATION. (Australian Press Association—United Service.) WASHINGTON. Sept. 21. Tire employment by shipbuilders in the United States of William B. Shearer as a naval propagandist and observer at the Geneva Conference was described to-day as most unwise. The statement was made before the Senate Naval Affairs Committee by Mr Charles M. Schwab, chairman of directors of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Mr Schwab said that he knew nothing about the Shearer deal until many months later.
Asked who was responsible for the employment of Shearer by his company, Mr Schwab, with hesitation, named Mr S. Wakeman, the vicepresident.
