HUGE OFFICE BUILDING.

FIFTY THOUSAND WORKERS. SITE OF FAMOUS HOTEL. (Australian Press Association—United Service.) NEW YORK, Sept. 22. A contract has been given by the Empire State Incorporated, of which Mr A 1 Smith, the former Governor of New York, is president, to Starrett Brothers for the construction of the world’s highest office building. The structure, which will be erected on the site of tho world-famous Wal-dorf-Astoria Hotel, will be 1000 feet high, of 80 storeys. It will accommodate 50,000 workers. It is stated that the building will be ready within two years.
