COUNTRY CLUBS’ ASSOCIATION. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Sept. 24. Tho Auckland Provincial Country Racing Clubs’ Association adopted a recommendation that all clubs should minimise tho issue of complimentary tickets. A sub-committee was set up to confer with the Auckland District Comittee with the view to evolving some scheme whereby district committees should have more effective control of racing in their districts. HISTORIC REHANDICAPPED FOR N.Z. CUP. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 24. Historic has been rehandicapped at 8.12 for the New Zealand Cup, a penalty of 71bs. HASTINGS TRAINING NOTES. Per Press Association. HASTINGS. Sept. 24. Not a great deal of fast work was done on the Hastings tracks this morning. Royal Elm gave a finished display over five hurdles. Tanagra and High Heather went once round in 1.45^. Clever and Great Charter did six furlongs on the plough in 1.17 4-5, a good gallop. Admiral Drake did once round in 1.431. Tho Guineas candidate is in great order. Queen’s Choice and Zippor did once round in 1.441, neither being fully extended. Huikai and Merrv Damon did six furlongs in 1.22 and could have done better. High Court on the grass did the best gallop of the morning registering 1.15 lor six furlongs. Others were out doing useful work.
AUCKLAND HANDICAPS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 24. Owing to Maori Boy being ineligible, the handicapper has recast the weights in the Gordon Handicap and they are now as follow: —Arikitoa, Clever 9.0, Sea Cob 8.11, Good Boy, Prince Val 8.10, Kawainga 8.8, Par, Eclipse 8.4, Kaha, Tourist 8.3, Indolent 7.12, Some Lady, Lucky Alice, Calithe 7.6, Brampton 7.4, Nassock, Takaranga, Mount Guide, Bizzarro, Motere Neil, Alloy, Red Lion, Restaurant, Currajong, Ari liana, Salamander, Belle, Star, AVilliam of Orange, Taurua, Clopton, Crown Arch, bpring Abbey, Catoma, Tetrachate, Otranto, Ramblin’ Kid, Carmint," Snowplane, Merry Mason, Dark Prince, Hannibal 7.0. Up to the present New Zealand has played 89 international matches, oi which 69 have been won, four drawn, and 15 lost. Tlie All Blacks beat Bedell-Sievwright’s team which visited New Zealand in 1904 bv 9 points to 3. Harding’s Anglo-AVeish team played three matches against New Zealand in 1908, of which New Zealand won the first, at Dunedin, by 32 points to 5; the second, at Wellington, was drawn, each side scoring three points, and the All Blacks won the third, at Auckland, by 29 to nil. New Zealand only lost one international match on the tour made to Great Britain in 1905. Dean s “try” in tho only defeat sustained in Britain —against Wales by the 1905 team —remains a subject for discussion by newspaper writers in England to this day.
