PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL. In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.” and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and its Amendments and all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling the Council in that behalf. THE Palmerston North Borough Council hereby gives public notice that such Council proposes to raise a Special Loan of £14 ; 000 at a rate of Interest not exceeding £5 10s Od per centum per annum for the purpose of enabling the said Council to construct and Mistal one 6in diameter Artesian 'Well, Underground Cistern of 100,000 gallons Rapacity, to provide two electrically operated Pumps, erection of Pump House and purchase of Land, and to lay 9in diameter Mains in Ituahine Street, 12in diameter Mains in Eeatherston Street, and 18in diameter Mains in Rangitikei Street. And for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the said Special Loan and for the payment of Interest and other charges on or in connection with the said Loan and a Sinking Fund of One and one-quarter per centum per annum, to appropriate and pledge as security a Special Rate of One-eighth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the Borough, on the basis of the unimproved value, such rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such Special Loan, and to be made and levied by resolution of the said Council, to be passed after the said Special Loan has been agreed to by the Ratepayers. The whole of the Special Loan is to be repaid at the expiration of 33 years from the date of raising same. It is not proposed to pay out of the Special Loan the cost of raising the Loan, or the Interest and Sinking Fund for the first year. Dated at Palmerston North this 24th dav of September, 1929. J. R.
