CHURCH ON FIRE.

INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 23. A fire was discovered in the vestry of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Addington, this evening. Fortunately, the outbreak was noticed early and the brigade, summoned promptly, made an excellent save. Tlie church is about CO years old, and is built of wood, with a shingle roof. If the fire had gained strength, there would have been little hope for the church, which is one of the oldest in Canterbury. Tile damage was confined to the vestry and should not exceed £l5O. The origin of the fire is unknown, but incendiarism is suspected.
