THE WEATHER
GENERAL FORECAST.
The anti-cyclone is moving gradually to the eastward off the Dominion. A depression, with a cyclone centre in the northern portion, is advancing from the Tasman Sea. Freshening north-east to northerly winds, becoming strong in the extreme north. Seas smooth to moderate generally in New Zealand waters, but rising north of East Cape and south of Cape Egmont. Moderate to strong northerly winds and moderate to rather rough seas in the Eastern Tasman Sea. Weather fine generally at first, but soon becoming oloudy and misty, with rain developing in northern and western districts. Temperatures becoming milder. DISTRICT REPORT. MILD AND HAZY. The Government meteorologist telegraphed to-day: The indications are for moderate to strong northerly winds. Mild and hazy conditions with increasing haze and cloudiness with some scattered showers later. The barometer is falling slowly, but will be rising Blowly after about 20 hours. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE.
