CENTRE OF WORLD’S COMMERCE. ADVICE TO WESTERN CANADA. (Australian Press Association. Received September 2-5, 12.45 p.m. OTTAWA, Sept. 24. Captain Robert Dollar, the owner of the Dollar steamship lines, was interviewed to-day at Vancouver. Captain Dollar stated that in a few years the centre of the world’s commerce would be the’Pacific. Western Canada must start now and lay the foundation. It should start manufacturing raw materials and get them across the ocean. Even to-day the Pacific Ocean commerce was increasing so fast that it was hard to keep track of it all. Captain Dollar advocated cheap cable communication between all sides of the Pacific by business interests.
