The board recommends that the matches at Southampton and Cheltenham be transposed, also those at Liverpool and Northampton. The executive committee of the team is empowered to arrange unofficial matches at the end of the tour in the North of Scotland. This committee has been given power to limit the match at Edinburgh to two. days. An important resolution affecting the player-writer, with a proviso designed so that it will not harshly affect a professional journalist, who is also a cricketer, was reached by the board. The resolution reads, “The board will not approve of tho selection for lhe Australian team to visit England in 1930 of any cricetekr who during the season 1929-30 writes or contributes any articles for the press, which, in the opinion of the board, comments on the play in any first-class match, or on the prospects of selection of any cricketers who may possibly be a member of such team. Any cricketer whose sole occupation is professional journalism, upon first obtaining the written permission of the chairman of the board, and until such permission is withdrawn by the chairman or the board, may write or contribute articles commenting upon the play in any such match, but only prior to the date of his selection for such teams.” SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR. The board gave further consideration to tho tour of the South African team in 1931-32. It was decided to adopt the recommendation from South Africa that the tour be limited to five months. The minimum charges for admission aro not to be less than those during recent English team’s tour. This decision was reached at the request of the South African Associative six-ball over will be adopted in Test matches against the South Africans. , ,
