AFTER MANY YEARS.
ARREST AT HELENSVILLE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 25. Detective-Sergeant Doyle and John R. Bigham, sheriff and chief of police of Bell County, Texas, yesterday arrested at Helensville, A. B. Crouch, alias J. M. Cameron, alias John Grey, aged 48. It is alleged that by 'forgeries he obtained over 150,000 dollars from a bank at Temple, Texas, by forged bills of lading. The accused was first located at Christchurch in 1917, when he was residing there under the name of J. M. Cameron. He disappeared to America, returning to Helensville, where ho has resided for eleven years under the name of John Grey, acquiring considerable means as a land agent. Accused appeared before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., to-day and was remanded, bail in the meantime being refused. On receipt of the warrant from America, the police will apply to the local court for an extradition order.
