OPIUM HAUL.

VALUED AT ABOUT £3OOO. DISCOVERY~ON STEAMER. (Australian Press Association). Received September 26, 9.50 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 26. Two hundred and seventy-six tins of opium, valued at about were discovered to-day by Customs officers in a secret cupboard aboard the steamer Tanda.

The Tanda is lying at Woolloomooloo Bay. The illegal cargo which was concealed in a concrete bed in a linen chest, is one of the largest hauls that has been made for many years.
