DOWN THE LINE
(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Sept. 25. The annual meeting of tho Otaki Cricket Club was held on Monday night, Mr H. Nicolson presiding. The attendance was not large. Mr F. S. Simcox, secretary and treasurer, submitted his report and balance-sheet. Tho latter showed a credit of £2 3s lid. The following were elected officers: Patron, Mr G. F. Atmore; provident, Mr W. M. Simcox (re-elected] I; vice-presidents, Messrs 11. Stewart, J. P. Brandon, Dr. Milne, F. Askew, S. Morse, Bruce Knox, R. M. and W. D’Ath, J. Warncck, 11. and 11. J. Palmer; field captain, Mr S. Sievers; *vico-captam, Mr P. Simcox; club captain and selector, Mr A. Flutey; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr F. S. Simcox (re-elected); delegates to association, Messrs F. S. Simcox aim S. Sievers; committee, Messrs Sievers, . S. and I* Simcox and A. Flutey. It was decided to apply to the Borough Council for the use of the ground, and to send letters of thanks to Mrs W. Bevan for assistance al\\;ays so readily given and to Mr Morse for the free use of a room for the meeting. It was agreed to have a working bee on the ground on Saturday week, while Mr Simcox was authorised to procure necessary cricketing material. The annual subscription was fixed at £l. A letter was read from the Otaki Bowling Club extending an invitation for cricketers to be present at their opening.
