VICTIM OF ACCIDENT.
THE LATE MR J. E. MASON. The news of the death of Mr J. E. Mason, son of Mr and Mrs W. Mason,, of Grey Street, Palmerston North, in the motor cycle fatality near Bunnythorpe on Sunday, has been received with deep sorrow by the many friends of the deceased young man! Of a bright and kindly disposition, he was well known among the young people of the city for his sportsmanship and gentlemanly bearing. Deceased received his primary education at the Shannon School and later attended the Palmerston North Technical School. After completing his education he was employed in business by which means he came into contact with the public. Sport attracted the late Mr Mason’s attention. During the winter months he had taken the field for the Shannon intermediate team and for the Kia Toa third grade fifteen. He was, in addition, a member of the Technical School senior team. He was also a member of the P.D.C. Wednesday cricket team and of the Railway Club week-end eleven. The late Mr Mason was of a generous disposition. On Sunday morning he had, in company with a friend, made the journey to Mr J. Elwin’s property at Bunnythorpe where he had assisted the recently bereaved 0 family yith the milking operations. He had returned during the afternoon to render additional assistance. It was while returning home that he met his death. ' ■ \ The bereaved parents have received a iarge number of telegrams and messages of sympathy.
