RAILWAY DISASTER.
INQUIRY IN MOSCOW. TRAIN DRIVERS AND OFFICIALS SENTENCED.
Received January 27. 8.5 a.nv MOSCOW, Jan. 26. An inquiry was held into the railway disaster which occurred rear Moscow on the evening of January 2, and in which 68 were killed and 130 injured.;’ < Two suburban trains left Moscow within an interval of a few minutes. As the first passed Kossino station; a drunken man threw himself beneath it. The train stopped, but the correct signals- were not given. ( The following ’train,' travelling at 50 miles an hour, crashed into the stationary train, with appalling results. The 'drivers of the trains were sen-tenced-to ■ ten years’ and eight years’ imprisonment respectively. The stationmaster at Kossino was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment, and other officials to ; terms varying from one to five years. ■ • • ■ - ,
