THE WEATHER
GENERAL FORECAST. The recent disturbance has disappeared eastwards, and a moderate anti-cyclone is now moving toward New Zealand. Pressure is falling again over south-eastern Australia. Moderate southerly winds, veering again shortly to westerly and northeriy, and freshening from Cook Strait southwards. A rough swell south of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters. Light southerly winds, veering to northerly and freshening in the southern portion of the Tasman Seas; seas moderate. Weather fair to fine generally, but later showers again developing in the western and far southern districts of the South Island. Temperatures warm again. DISTRICT REPORT. The Government meteorologist wired to-day: The indications are for northerly winds, moderate to strong, and freshening. The weather will probably ' prove squally and changeable, and later-some scattered showers. The barometer is falling*
