ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
MANAWATU SUB-CENTRE MEETS. A meeting of the executive committee of the Manawatu. Sub-Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic and Cycling Association was held last evening when there were present: Messrs Stagpoole (chairman), Leach, Drumm, Strange, Dixon, Harding, East and Turnbull (secretary). The Oroua Downs Sports Club wrote asking for permission to hold their annual gathering on March 9. Granted. The Sandon Sports Club applied for March 19 for their annual sports meeting.—Granted, together with approval of the programme. The Bunnythorpe Sports Club applied for February 27 (provisionally). —Received.
Mr F. W. Aisher tendered his resignation as president owing to . his having been appointed, president of the newlv-formed West Coast (North Island) Centre and being unable to retain both positions. ‘Mr C. S. Stagpoole was elected to the vacancy, and Mr Aisher was elected a life member in recognition of his work.
