THE WEATHER
GENERAL FORECAST,
An anti-cyolone is now centred east of the North Island, and another westerly depression is advancing on to the Dominion. Moderate to strong northerly to westerly winds of gale force at placeß in and south of Cook Strait, backing later to southerly, in southern districts. Seas rough south of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters/ Fresh to strong westerly winds, backing soon to southerlies in the southern half of the eastern Tasman Sea; seas rough. Weather changeable and squally ; showers in districts with a westerly aspect and extending to scattered parts of the eastern portion of the South Island.
DISTRICT REPORT.
SQUALLY AND CHANGEABLE.
The Government meteorologist wired to-day:—The indications are for northerly moderate to strong and northerly strong to gale at times, after about 24 hours, and backing by west to south, but decreasing. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable. The barometer will be rising soon.
