BOWLS. Three rinks from the Bulls Bowling Club visited the Feilding Club 8 .greens on Wednesday and were defeated by 68 points to 41 in the aggregate. The details are as follow, the Feilding skips being named first:—G. Bartholomew 30 v. Ingram 8; Way _ 17 v. Archer 16; Jones 21 v. Drew 18. The following rinks have been selected to play Woodville on the Feilding green to-morrow afternoon : McKlroy, Barltrop, Hocken, Neilson (skip); Gray, Levett, Jones; Ramsay (skip); Lumsden, Nesbit, J. Bartholomew, Mills (skip); Bramwell, Eliott, Edel--eton. G. Bartholomew (skip); Duncan, Hight, Dewe, T. Burne (skip). A challenge rink from the Bolls Club, Croucher, Goebel, Caldow, sevens/ (skip), played the holders Dummer, Nesbit, Allen, Ramsay (skip), for the Harford Tikis on the Feilding green on Wednesday afternoon, and were defeated by 24 to 15.
NOTES. Misees R. M. Smith and E. M. Nairn have been appointed probationary assistants at the Manchester Street School for the first term and will take up their duties on Monday. The holders of the Foresters’ Buttons —Noble, Rosonoski, Batten, Edwards (skip)—were defeated m a challenge, game of indoor bowls on Wednesday night _by Wills, Scott, Worsfold and Martin (skip). The scores were 17 points to 16. Mr Noel Amadio has been appointed a relieving teacher at Lytton Street School under the rationing scheme for teachers and will commence his duties on Monday. . .... , At to-day’s meeting in Feilding of the Wellington Central Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union a resolution of svmpathy with the relatives of the late Mr I*. J. Small was carried l in silence, rhe chairman, Mr Ki W. Dalrymple, referred to Mr Small’s associations with the Dairy Farmers’ Union and his continual work in the direction of helping all farming interests.
