HEAVY RAIN.

FLOODING ON WEST COAST. Per Press Association. WESTPORT, Jan. 29. Heavy rains along the West Coast caused flooding to-dav. A washout at the Hokitika mental hospital deposited hundreds of tons of debris over the entrance gates. There is some flooding in the Greymouth, Hokitika and Runanga districts with slips at Taylorville. The coastal road is blocked and motors and trains' are held up between Greymouth and Runanga.
