As a result of the terrific heat in the country districts of New South Wales four persons died yesterday, also a large' number of cattle, fowls and birds. The heat was so intense that men working in the open were forced to stop work for several hours.

Collarenabri topped the list with 120 degrees, iviany other towns registered over 110 degrees.
