CUSTOMS RETURNS.
WELLINGTON RETURNS. WELLINGTON, Jan. 31. A further decrease was recorded in tho net Customs revenue collected at the port of Wellington for January, as compared with January, 1931. The figures were £220,594 and £205,956 respectively, a drop of £14,638. For January, 1930, the figure was £277,486. For the ten months of the financial year the revnue was £1,834,047, as against £2,504,618 for the corresponding period of the last financial year, a decrease of £670,571. CHRISTCHURCH FIGURES. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 31. The Customs returns for January compared with January, 1931, were:— 1932, net Customs £58,826; 1931, £69,097 ; .beer duty, £5874 and £5645 : petrol tax, £17,675 and £19,033; tyre tax, £834 and £3771. FIGURES FOR DUNEDIN. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Jan. 31. Customs returns for the month ended to-day amounted to £57,346 13s as compared with £48,051 11s Id for the corresponding period of last year. The beer dutv was £21,634 5s 2d as against £17,677 '2s 2d. The motor tyre tax totalled £SBB 5s 10d as against _ £2412 6s 2d for the corresponding period of last vear. The petrol tax amounted to £12,775 18s as compared with £10,953 3s Gd last year. „
