It is said that members of one of the All Black teams, visiting England, who were taken to see the Wall Game at Eton, were bored by the spectacle. The Wall Game is unique, and owes its origin to the presence of a high wall enclosing Dart of the college grounds. The teams are eleven a-side. Five players on each side form down against the wall in a bully or scrum, and the object is to work the ball along the wall with the fet into the “calx” the equivalent of the area behind the Rugby goal line.
