(Vrom Our Own Correspondent.) TAIKOREA, Deo. 10. On Wednesday, December 7, the Taikorea Women’s Institute held its usual monthly meeting in the Coronation Hall, Mrs J. M. Muclf ord presiding over a fair attendance. A competition, “the best gift for a child,” was won by Mrs R. Leach, of Bainesse. Demonstrations were given in the art of tatting, the making of organdio sachets, and also of rubber bag making. These wero very interesting and wero ably given by Mesdames Morcom and Davidson. The serving of aftornoon tea and tho singing of the National Anthem concluded a very pleasant and instructive afternoon. Tho cricket enthusiasm is as keen among the children as their elders, and a number of matches have been played against Glen Oroua. A match played at Taikorea this week resulted in a win for tho visiting team by 47 runs to 27. In C. Gimblett, Glen Oroua have a promising player, as, besides scoring 32 runs, ho also secured tho major number of wickets for his side.
