SCENE IN PARLIAMENT
TROUBLE IN QUEENSLAND. MEMBER ASSAULTED. STATEMENT RESENTED. (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received December 14, 10.45 a.m. BRISBANE, Dec. 14. A member of the Assembly assaulted another while the House was in session. Tliis is tho first incident of the kind in the history of the Queensland Parliament. While in Committee Mr E. Llewelyn, a Labour member, said that Mr E. Maher (Country Party) had a filthy mind. Mr Maher walked across the chamber and struck Mr Llewelyn in the face. Mr Maher was suspended for the remainder of the session. Later the Premier moved that Mr Maher bo summoned to attend at the oar of tho House to answer the charge of having assaulted Mr Llewelyn and this was agreed to.
