J WVti **lgV»****ir*»*i Now choosing Xmas Presents says Pamela fromP.D,C. The same old problem begins all over again—there’s George, and there’s Peter and Barbara, Brother Bon and Sister Amy, Aunt Matilda and Uncle Felix, and then of course the old folk and some few cousins. Beally it’s very difficult to think of something for everyone, but somehow my difficulties were easily solved this time—l’ve made some wonderful discoveries during the last day or so. I’ve come to the conclusion that gifts loose none of their charm by being useful, in fact, I’ve an idea that they are the kind that will be appreciated most of all this year. Here are just a few of the ideas I’ve gained— The Christmas handshake will be a warm one should you send a pair of those lovely white washable doeskin gloves with a fringed gauntlet (12/6)—we give a wearing guarantee with them too!—And I heard a whisper that there t will be a new shipment of those marvellous white doeskin | gauntlets at 6/11 here on Thursday—lucky these are arriving | m time for Xmas giving. A new idea—Tom Thumb § umbrellas—diminutive things which measure only 21 inches P and yet have a full sized cover. In blue, brown or black 3 plain or fancy bordered oovers, 16/6 to 27/6—lt amazed' me to find in existence so many | varieties of handbags—l liked ibest a bag of brown morooco in a new pouch shape, piped with white and with a zipp I fastener at 35/-. Among the I lovely things unpacked this [ week are the white handbags i —made from pegamoid I think they call it. They’re ever so smart and only 6/11, and I 3 was intrigued to hear that a damp sponge will keep them spotless. yu ft, % y,r i Stationery is here again—the [ boxes more quaint and colorful i than ever. I’ve sketched you 9 one style, but there are hosts to choose from, from 1/11 to i 25/- box. 5 I discovered such an attractive array of cun i links in the Mercery Dept, that I decided upon a I pair for each of my favourite nephews. They are plated and priced from 2/6 —would you (believe it? And a tie and scarf caught my eye—- [ they match, are of silk faille and are boxed for i Xmas. I chose one of a lovely navy with a wine 9 a nd gold stripe 17/6—there are others from 12/6. | He’ll appreciate a tie press. See those of inlaid mahogany or polish oak—the prices start as low 3 as 4/6 — In the Fancy Dept. I found so many styles and sizes in novelty gift soaps that I hardly knew what to choose—really a most splendid assortment! I was thrilled by the inexpensiveness of them all—s tablets of fragrant Lavender Soap, daintily wrapped in cellophane—only 1/ —and Soap and 6 bath tablets in a pretty box 2/11. Bath powder is always most acceptable, and the price of an attractive tin, complete with a large velour puff is but 2/6. Amongst the novelties are the sweetest of ohina pin trays with wee coloured flowers (1/-), fascinating gold and blue waste paper baskets in three sizes—3/11, 4/6 and 4/11 —and sets of cork table mats beautifully stencilled in gay colours which make the loveliest presents, and they’re ever so useful too in these days of polished tables. The Ovals, 1/3. 1/6, 1/11. Round Ones, 1/-, 2/3,J./6, 1/9, S/6 f 6 7/t To I wish there was more space ’cos there are so many things to tell you about. And I’ve only mentioned such a very few. Come in tho’ and let us show you round, we’re happy to at any time. Next week I’m going off on annual leave for a fortnight’s rest! I know that I’ll come bank feeling t as I always do—quite convinced that P.D.C. is the best place to work at—and the best place to shop—values unequalled—service unsurpassed.—So cheerio 'til after the holidays. Model Frocks for XmasOn no account must you miss PJXC.’s great offer of frocks, My dears, I’ve seen them. They’re gems of daintiness and originality. Anyone would think them well jj worth 45/- and they’re only—guess—3s/6!
