NO. 10 SCHEME.
Attention is drawn to the fact that the No. 10 scheme under which a subsidy of 6s 8d in tho £1 is paid on the wages costs of all building, and renovating work including painting, paperhanging, plumbing, the erection of now buildings, additions etc., closes on December 31. All work to be eligiblo for tho subsidy must be authorised and commenced before that dato. A large volume of work has been carried out during the la3t few months under this scheme, resulting in a very marked and beneficial stimulation of tho building and allied trades and of business generally. Tho No. 10 scheme has become such an accepted and generally recognised thing that probably many pcoplo do not realise that its term is limited, and a reminder is therefore necessary to those who may have been contemplating certain work or who may still have an opportunity of taking advantage of tho very substantial saving that can be effected under this scheme. Tho Manawatu Employment Development Committee, State Fire Building, will be glad to supply any information on the subject.
