UMUTOI.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) UMUTOI, Dec. 13. The results of the proficiency examinations are now to hand and both / entrants secured a pass. The success of Leslie Sixtus is particularly meritorious ns he had been absent from school for some weeks prior to the examination. An earthquake was felt here on Sunday morning about throe o’clock. The weather experienced over last week-end was decidedly boisterous, the wind mounting to gale force at times with heavy rain, hail and thunder. Farming operations are at a standstill, but the weather appears to be clearing at present and a fine warm spell would be much appreciated.
