HEALTH OFFICER’S EXPENSES

LOCAL BODIES’ SHARES. Notification regarding the amount to be paid by each local body concerned in the activities of the Government Health Officer in the Manawatu were received at yesterday’s meeting of the Manawatu County Council from the Health Department, the percentages being as under:—Kiwitea County Council, 6i per cent. ; Poliangina, 3£ per cent.; Oroua, 9} per cent.; Kairanga 12.3 per cent.; Manawatu, 11.7 per cent.; Pahiatua, 11 per cent. : Foxton Borough, 7.7 per cent.; Pahiatua Borough, 8 per cent. It wias pointed gut that under these arrangements the department was only collecting 70 per cent, of the outgoings. The county clerk (Mr A. Iv. Drew) placed tlie following schedule of payments by each local body itnder its percentage allocations before tlie council : —Kiwitea County Council (6.5 per cent.), £37 Os 8d; Poliangina County (3.5 per cent.), £l9 18s 8d; Oroua County Council (9.5 per cent.), £54 2s 4d; Kairanga County Council (12.3 per cent.), £7O Is 4d; Manawatu County Council (11.7 per cent.), £66 12s; Pahiatua County Council (11 per cent.), £62 13s 8d; Foxton Borough (7.7 per cent.), £43 17s; Pahiatua. Borough (8 per cent.), £45 11s 4d; Government (29.8 per cent.), £169 14s 6d;' total expenditure, £569 11s 6d.
