SHOCKING CRUELTY.
CAT’S TONGUE CUT OUT. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Dec. 14. A case of abhorrent cruelty was reported to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals by its inspector who stated that the investigation of a complaint made by a Roslyn resident showed that his cat’s tongue had been cut out at the root, while only a fortnight earlier a cat belonging to the owner of an adjacent house had its hind legs fastened together by wire twisted through the sinews. The police are- endeavouring to trace the culprit.
