OPERA HOUSE ENTERTAINMENT.
To-night the grand entertainment which has caught the ear and eye of Palmerston takes place. It is expected that the building will be crowded, judging by the way tickets have been selling and those desiring special seats are advised to book thorn at the Central Booking Office. Never was the call for relief funds greater in Palmerston North, and Mr Hurry Dawson has organised this grand entertainment, tho gross proceeds of which will be equally divided between the Mayor’s Relief Fund and the Salvation Army Christmas Cheer (Ensign Thorne’s fund. In any case the entertainment that will be provided is not only of a somewhat unique character but is easily worth much more than the moderate Is being charged and which admits to any part of the hall. The public are urged to forget tho depression and the war debt and other debts for tho time and support this special function of cheer and entertainment. Besides beautiful pictures of Sydney harbour bridge and many unique scenes which have attracted large audiences whore Mr Dawson has shown them, conspicuous on the programme are selections by the Salvation Army Band and vocal and instrumental contributions by talented artists, including Mr F. Oiiple, the. blind pianist. The Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) who has greatly assisted in many ways to make the function a success, will be the chairman.
