MEANNESS REWARDED.

A very mean man went info a _glassware shop in search of a Christmas present for a friend. After spending some time looking at different articles and finding them all too expensive, he at last saw a vase which was broken in several pieces. He inquired the price, and, finding it was practically nothing, lie decided to send it to his friend, hoping that lie would think it had been broken in the post. Accordingly he asked the to pack and dispatch it. A few days later lie received the following reply from his friend;— “Thanks for the vase. So though-! fill of you to wrap up each piece separately.”
