Parsons, Great Emblem; Keith Hall, Lapstone; R. McTavlsh. Beryl Latour, Jonathan. A juvenile who is stated to be showing improved speed and to have become more so id is Gold Pocket, a half-brother to Greek Gold. In his outings to date (jold Pocket has raced solidly. Pillow Fight is reported to ’bo bearing a bright appearance. He is now being given more serious tasks in preparation for the Auckland meeting. When beaton m the Great Northern Guineas a leg injury was troubling him. The northerner, Thespis, is a good track worker and galloper over any distance. He has been seen to advantage in highweiglit handicaps and in this type of race will always have to bo considered. He is in good order at present. A. Eastwood has been engaged to ride Jaloux in the Auckland Cup, Exaggeration in the Railway Handicap, and Silver Scorn and Berate in their engagements. At Bendigo on November 30 ho won tho Flying Handicap, 5 furlongs, when he beat six others in 1.1 2-ssecs. Sinco their return from the Takapuna Refresher, Glen Vane and Sparkling Morn have not been asked to do anything serious, states a Taranaki writer. However, a few good gallops should see them ready for Boxing Day. They will do their holiday racing at Stratford and New Plymouth. Lady Quex has had an easy time since •m reb,l 'ti from Feilding. All going well with her it is_ intended to race her in tho Palmorston North Stakes on the second day of tho Manawatu nfeeting, and then to take her on to Ellerslie for the last two days. This course was adopted two years ago, when, after winning at Awapuni, she went on and carried off the Newmarket Handicap. The northern horseman, F. T. Bent.ley, who can go to scale at 7.2, will be attending the Manawatu meeting and is meantime seeking engagements. Reports from Riccarton indicate that there is every chance of Fast Passage reaching tho post firt and well for the Auckland Cup. Fiat Lux, who claims an engagement in the maiden event at the Banks Peninsula meeting at Riccarton to-morrow, is Mr G. Gould’s two-year-old colt by Jericho .from Luminant, by Thurnham from Boniform’s sister, Sunglow. TEAM FROM BLENHEIM. The Blenheim trainer, T. R. George, will have three horses racing at the Manawatu meeting, these being Revision, Miladi, and Bettwyscoed. They will be the first horses he has produced sinco hi 3 return from Victoria. Leading trainer for the last two years, he has yet to register his first win here this season. Miladi and Revision are the two of Mr J. J. Corry’s team recently sold to the Wellington sportsman, Mr W. A.
Fuller. Both were useful performers last season, the with eight wins, being excelled in number of successes for the term in the Dominion only by Imperial Fame (eleven wins) and Huntingdon (nine wins). Bettwyscoed is an unraced two-year-old filly by Tea Tray from the Bozonian mare La Paix (dam of Autopay, Delice and Pound Note), and she will raco in George’s own colours, having been purchased by him cheaply at the recent Greenwood dispersal sale for 35 guineas. DARGAVILLE INQUIRY. JUDICIAL COMMITTEE MEETS. DARGAVILLE, Dec. 15. The judicial committee of tho Dargaville Racing Club met at Dargaville to further consider the running in the President’s Handicap at their meeting on December 3, as requested by the Auckland District Committee of tho New Zealand Racing Conference. Mr R. G. Hosking, who acted as stipendiary steward, and Mr L. W. Nelson, a member of tho Auckland District Committee, both of Whangarci, were in attendance, and it was resolved to reopen the inquiry. The District Committee suggested that the final meeting of the Dargaville judicial committee should take placo in Auckland, and this was agreed to. The meeting will be held in Auckland on Monday, when the parties concerned in the inquiry will be in attendance.
