ASSEMBLY HALL.
BUILDING FOR TECHNICAL SCHOOL. Arrangements were made at the meeting of the Technical School Committee last evening for the erection of an assembly hall in connection with the school, subject to the approval of the department, and it was decided that an application be made to the Unemployment Board for the work to bo carried out under the No. 10 scheme The approximate cost of the building, which is to be erected in a position facing Queen Street, is £1550. In the front of the building will be a vestibule with cloakrooms on each side. The main hall will be 80 feet long and 40 feet wide, while at the hack will be a stage 20 feet wide by 12ft 6in deep, with dressing-rooms on each side. the building will be in the same grounds as the main building of the school, and it is considered that it will serve a very useful purpose in assembling the pupils prior to the commencement of lessons at the various sessions. The committee passed a vote of thanks to the City Council for granting permission to erect the building in wo oa. ____
