MANAWATU PIPE BAND.
Favoured by a vacancy in the schedule of band programmes, the Manawatu Scottish Society’s Pipe Band rendered a fine programme of music in tho rotunda at the Esplanade on Sunday afternoon. This was the first occasion on which the band had contributed a Sunday concert. Perfect summer conditions prevailed and there was a large number of spectators, many of whom voiced their appreciation of the progress being made by the band. Waltzes, slow marches and marches, including “Tho Hundred Pipers” and “Bonnie Dundee” were contributed. Trios were also played by members of the band.
