FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
FORESTERS’ LODGE. The usual fortnightly meeting of Court Manawatu, A.0.F., was Tield on Monday evening in the Foresters’ Hall, when C.R. Bro. Hancock presided over a fair attendance of members and visiting brethren. The secretary, D.S.B. Bro. Edwards, reported that the Christmas tree function had been well attended and stated that credit was due to the members who carried out their respective duties in connection with it. Fraternal greetings were received from the president of the Friendly Societies’ Council, member-;, and other courts. Two new members were initiated into the Order by the C.R., ably assisted by P.C.R. Bro. Rogers. P.C.R. Bro. Holgerson, on behalf of the Friendly Societies’ Council, extended a hearty invitation to all to be present at the Friendly Societies’ Council picnic, to bo held as advertised at a later date. The following officers were elected to take office for the ensuing yenr: C. Bro. Vivian; S.C.R., Bro. Lord; Treasurer, Bro. Fletcher; Secretary, I D. 5.8., Bro. Edwards; S.W., Bro. jMudgway; J.W., Bro. Smith; 5.8., Bro. Freeman; M.S., Bro. IJolgerson; P.C.8., Bro. Hancock; Hospital Association delegate, P.C.R. Bro. Burns; Dispensary Board delegates, P.C.R. Bros. Burns and Holgerson. An invitation was accepted to attend the installation social of Court Hinemoa, and it was decided to invite them hack to the lodge’s installation social. D. Bro. Edwards reported .on visiting the Wellington district meet-, and business transacted there.
