CLASH WITH POLICE

UNEMPLOYED IN VANCOUVER. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received December 21 1.10 p.m. VANCOUVER, Dec. 20. Four persons were seriously injured at Edmonton when mounted policemen charged 1200 unemployed who were attempting to stage a forbidden march on the Provincial Parliament Buildings. Twenty suffered minor injuries. Eighteen arrests were made. LABOUR LEAGUE’S DENIAL. Received December 21, 1.55 p.m. TORONTO, Dec. 20. Following a denial by the Canadian Labour Defence League of being linked with the Communist Party in plotting disturbances throughout the country as alleged by the Mayor of Vancouver, Inspector A. Murray, of Toronto stated to-day that the League president Rev. A. E. Smith, was now in Moscow studying Stalin’s methods.
