COMMISSIONER’S DEATH. CALCUTTA, Dec. 19. Mr John Gilbert Bourne, Deputy Commissioner of the Betul district in the Central Provinces, died as the result of injuries received from a tiger while gallantly attempting to rescue an Indian beater who was being mauled. , , Mr Bourne shot and fatally wounded one tiger whose mate attacked the beater, and then turned on Mr Bourne,
