CHILDREN ENTERTAINED.
PICNIC AT ASHHURST. Children from the All Saints’ Home, the Willard Home and tho Hospital spent a delightful day at tho Aslihust Domain yesterday, when a picnic was arranged for them by the Manawatu Automobile Association. Some 62 children assembled in the Square and were driven to the picnic ground, where sports were held and each cliihl received a gift. Donated by business firms of the city, icecreams, soft drinks, fruit and other dainties were distributed. The day was one of enjoyment for all, and the efforts of the motorists were well rewarded by the delight of the children. The service-officer, Air V. Crichton, had charge of the arrangements, and was ably assisted by Air N. 11. Mackio (president of tho association), members of the committee, and Mesdames Crichton and Muir, who had charge of the ice-creams, etc.
