FAMILY PERSECUTED.
EX-MAYOR OF NEW YORK. Mr James Walker, the former Mayor of New York, is apparently “all washed up” (says a New York report). Dr. Walker, his brother, lias been ousted from a well-paid position on the Education Board, and other members of the family who held jobs are being combed out of the service by the Tammany leaders. Even Russell Sherwood, who carried Mr Walker’s bank-roll and who disappeared during the Seabury inquiry, lias sent word to tlie city 'authorities, “I’m ready to return and toff all.”
