FAIR IN BIRMINGHAM AND LONDON. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Dec. 20. The British Industries Fair, to be opened in London and Birmingham on February 20, will surpass all its predecessors in size and variety of manufactured products. In London, at Olympia and White City, the area required for the exhibits will be 490,000 square feet, compared with 384.000 square feet at the last fair. The demand for accommodation at Birmingham, where heavy industries will l>e largely represented, has also increased.
It is expected that tliei'o will be a large increase in the number of visitors from overseas.
REDUCED COST OF STEEL,
LONDON, Dec. 20. Experiments occupying many months have enabled the Duffield Iron Corporation to produce steel saleable at under £2 a ton, half of the present cost. The firm is now installing a plant for commercial production of the steel.
